About Stuart Poole-Robb
Stuart Poole-Robb - Professional Summary:
Stuart Poole-Robb has written several papers and books on security and intelligence over the years. The most successful of which was the highly acclaimed Risky Business co-authored by his friend Alan Bailey - published in 2002 and reprinted in 2004-2005.
He trained with the Special Forces in weapons, counter insurgency and counter terrorism. Stuart then served in Egypt, Libya, Nigeria and Oman, all of which led him to a tour of duty in the Yemen. He completed his service in 1971, but continued to serve his country with the Operations Research Unit in Century House (SIS). It was during this time that he saw service in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and in the USSR. From October of 1989, he temporarily worked on secondment for the West German Government working with the Treuhandanstalt through to February 1990.
Stuart has been involved in the intelligence and security sector for over 30 years forming and operating one of the most exclusive and discreet intelligence organisations in Europe. With the Merchant International Group (MIG), which he founded, he went on to win a number of prestigious Risk awards during the 1990's.
In January 2007, MIG was thrown into disarray when the Cerberus Security Group entered into a hostile corporate takeover. He was dismissed from the company, which collapsed some 8 months later.
Now aged 64, Stuart Poole-Robb is the Chief Executive Officer of KCS Group - Europe Limited, where he advises and supports multinationals across the globe on the more problematic issues arising out of business in places like the Russian Federation, the Middle East, Africa and parts of the Asia Pacific region.
Despite his busy schedule, Stuart still manages to find the time to devote to one of his great loves. He is the Chairman of the Martial Arts Federation of Great Britain and a practitioner in both Shotokan Karate and IAIDO.
